Neuroaffirmative Autism, ADHD & AuDHD Assessment and Psychological Support
Specialist clinical psychology services for children, teenagers and adults in Dublin, with selected consultations and services available online across Ireland. Led by Dr Jill Woods, Chartered Clinical Psychologist, Cocoon provides strengths-focused assessment, consultation and psychological support designed around the whole person rather than a one-size-fits-all pathway. "The difference between high-functioning and low-functioning autism is that high-functioning means your deficits are ignored, and low-functioning means your assets are ignored." – Laura Tisoncik "Stop thinking about normal . . . You don't have a big enough imagination for what your child can become." – Johnny Seitz, autistic tightrope artists in the movie Loving Lamposts.

Assessment & Support for Children and Teenagers
Cocoon provides neuroaffirmative psychological assessment and support for children and teenagers where there are questions about autism, ADHD, AuDHD, learning, giftedness, executive functioning or a broader neurodivergent profile.Assessment aims to understand the whole young person, including their strengths, support needs, developmental history and experiences across home and school. You do not need to know which assessment your child needs before getting in touch.EXPLORE CHILD & TEEN ASSESSMENT
A DIFFERENT KIND OF ASSESSMENT EXPERIENCE.
At Cocoon, assessment is not about reducing a person to a diagnosis, questionnaire score or list of difficulties. It is about making sense of the whole person: their strengths, differences, developmental history, environment, lived experience and the situations in which additional understanding or support may help. Neuroaffirmative practice does not mean overlooking genuine distress or difficulty. It means asking better questions about why something is difficult, what the person's nervous system and environment may be communicating, and what support is actually useful.

Adult Autism, ADHD & AuDHD Assessment
Adults come to Cocoon for many different reasons. Some have wondered about autism or ADHD for years. Others reach assessment following burnout, masking, executive-function difficulties, changing life demands, relationships, work or education, or after recognising similar patterns in their children. Adult assessment at Cocoon is neuroaffirmative, clinically integrated and individually planned. It can explore autism, ADHD, combined AuDHD and broader neurodivergent profiles, including learning differences, giftedness and twice-exceptionality where relevant. The aim is not simply to answer “Do I meet diagnostic criteria?” but also to develop a useful understanding of your individual strengths, needs and next steps.
