Fees & Assessment Pathways
Specialist Neurodevelopmental Screening, Assessment and Intervention Services for children, adolescents, adults and families.
Dr Jill Woods is a multi-neurodivergent Clinician and mother, providing streamlined, holistic, individualised treatment plans across the lifespan. Services are designed to be clinically robust, individually tailored and practically useful. Fees reflect direct appointment time as well as professional preparation, review of background information, psychometric scoring, clinical interpretation, formulation, report writing, tailored recommendations, professional accountability, materials and technology costs.
Not sure what to book first?
Most families and adults begin with an Initial Consultation / Parent Advice & Planning Appointment. This helps clarify whether comprehensive screening, diagnostic assessment, therapy, parent support, school consultation or another pathway is most appropriate. The aim is to recommend what is clinically indicated, and to avoid unnecessary appointments or testing.
How fees are structured
Cocoon aims to make fees as clear as possible while still recognising that neurodevelopmental assessment is not one-size-fits-all. Some services have a fixed fee. Others may vary when there are additional clinical questions, previous reports to review, school or workplace information to integrate, additional cognitive or learning questions, or more detailed written documentation required.
Where a fee may vary, this will be discussed before proceeding. A consultation does not commit you to a full assessment pathway.
Dr Jill Woods is a Chartered Clinical Psychologist. Psychology services at Cocoon may qualify for reimbursement through health insurance policies or may be eligible as health expenses through Revenue, depending on your own circumstances, referral pathway and insurance provider rules. Please check directly with your insurer and Revenue.ie.
Start here: consultation and planning
Consultation is the best first step, especially if you are unsure whether you need comprehensive screening, formal assessment, therapy sessions, parent advice and resources, school advocacy or post-diagnostic support and planning.
| Service | What this is for | Fee |
|---|---|---|
| Adult Initial Consultation & Planning Appointment | A clinical consultation with Dr Jill Woods to explore current concerns, consider possible pathways and identify whether screening, diagnostic assessment, therapy, self-directed resources, work or college accommodation guidance, or another service may be most appropriate. | €195 |
| Parent Consultation & Planning Appointment | For NEW clients - parents seeking guidance about their child or teenager, including emotional regulation, school concerns, neurodivergence questions, anxiety, anger, low self-esteem, friendships and social communication, or post-diagnostic support and next-step planning. A brief summary report of your consultation with best practice recommendations and costs is provided at the end of each consultation. | €195 |
| Parent Advice Clinic | For new or past clients - parents seeking guidance and support for their child or teenager following a prior assessment or therapy block. Professional guidance and signposting for parents that are unsure of the best next step. Advice Clinic does not include a written summary document. | €160 |
All consultation appointments include clinical discussion, initial formulation and next-step recommendations with prices quoted. Written summary reports are only provided with Initial Planning Consultations.
Screening & strengths profiling
Screening is most helpful when it is not yet clear whether a formal diagnostic assessment is needed, or when a broader profile of strengths, support needs, learning, attention, sensory, emotional and developmental factors is required.
| Service | What may be included | Fee |
|---|---|---|
| Focused Adult/child AuDHD Screening | A focused screening assessment for adults or parents who want initial clarification around autism and/or ADHD indicators, best-practice recommendations with next steps, and objective consideration of whether full diagnostic assessment is clinically indicated. For children 6yrs – 17yrs this includes EFSim VR game-based objective testing (Cocoon Clinical Psychology is the only clinic in Ireland providing this clinically validated neuropsychological computer-based test. EFSim is offered with all ADHD screening and assessments for children at Cocoon). | €475 |
| Comprehensive Adult Neurodivergence Screening & Strengths Profile | Broader screening for neurodivergence - ADHD, autism, AuDHD, masking, burnout, sensory differences, dyslexia indicators, giftedness, alexithymia, RSD, PDA, interoceptive awareness and other neurodivergent profile considerations, with written report of findings, clinical recommendations, and tailored treatment plan. | €600 |
| Child / Teen Holistic Neurodivergent Screening & Strengths Profile | Bio-psycho-social and neurodivergence screening with EFSim VR game-based objective testing, strengths and support-needs profiling, consideration of parent information and school information where relevant, and a written report with tailored recommendations. | €1,050 |
Screening does not replace a full diagnostic assessment where school supports are necessary. However, it can help clarify whether a diagnostic assessment is clinically indicated and what kind of assessment and/or support may be most useful. Screening may also be helpful for children with a previously confirmed diagnosis, where individual support needs and tailored recommendations require review.
ADHD assessment pathway
ADHD assessment at Cocoon is comprehensive. It considers attention, executive functioning, emotional regulation, developmental history, social, school or workplace impact, individual strengths, masking tendencies and any co-occurring neurodivergent or mental health factors. Cocoon is the only Clinic in Ireland to offer EFSim, a neuropsychological VR computer-game-based objective measure of executive functioning skills in children and teens (6-17yrs).

Assessment considers additional factors such as language and communication, sensory profile, motor skills, relationships and social preferences, play or interests, emotional regulation, PDA profiles, masking, burnout, adaptive functioning, developmental history, executive functioning strengths and challenges, and the person’s lived experience across settings.

€650 |
Therapy and post-diagnostic support
Neuroaffirmative therapy at Cocoon is tailored to the person’s individual needs, neurotype, developmental stage, communication preferences, nervous-system capacity, strengths and current bio-psycho-social context. Approaches may include neuroaffirmative adapted CBT, ACT, compassion-focused therapy, DBT-informed skills, trauma-informed work, parent consultation with family support planning, art or play-based approaches, and practical support planning. Prices for tailored therapy support packages are quoted following consultation and appropriate screening assessment.
| Service | What this is for | Fee |
|---|---|---|
| Child / Teen Therapy Session | Adapted neuroaffirmative and trauma-informed therapy for children and teens, where indicated following consultation and appropriate assessment. | €150 |
| Adult Therapy Session | Adapted neuroaffirmative and trauma-informed therapy for adults, where indicated following consultation and appropriate assessment. | €150 |
Therapy blocks of 6 or 12 strengths-focused and skills-based sessions, with tailored therapy plans, may be discussed following consultation where clinically appropriate. Child therapy blocks are not usually self-selected before consultation and appropriate screening, because therapy planning depends on identified SMART goals, suitability, risk, support needs and wider context. Therapy blocks involve 6 or 12 sessions, an individually tailored therapy plan with identified goals, and parent review consultation with discharge report outlining brief home support / school support maintenance plan.

Frequently asked questions about fees

How much is adult autism identification?
Adult Autism Identification is available through three pathways. The Standard Confirmation Pathway is €1,400. The Comprehensive Profile Pathway is €1,800. The Comprehensive AuDHD Profile Pathway is €2,800.
How much is child or teen autism assessment?
The Child / Teen Autism Diagnostic Assessment Core Pathway is €2,200. The Child / Teen Autism + Cognitive Profile is €2,650. The Child / Teen AuDHD + Cognitive / QbCheck and EFSim Pathway is €2,800.
Do I need to know whether I want autism, ADHD or AuDHD assessment before booking?
No. Many people arrive unsure. The consultation or screening pathway can help clarify whether autism assessment, ADHD assessment, AuDHD assessment, wider neurodivergence screening, therapy or another form of support is most appropriate.
What is the difference between screening and diagnostic assessment?
Screening helps clarify whether a formal diagnostic assessment is clinically indicated in a particular developmental area and can provide a broader strengths-focused support-needs profile. Diagnostic assessment is a more focused pathway used to determine whether specific diagnostic criteria are met for autism, ADHD or dyslexia, for example.
Why do some services vary in cost?
Some assessment pathways vary because clinical needs can differ greatly depending on developmental history, previous reports, school or workplace information, cognitive or learning questions, co-occurring needs across developmental areas, and the level of information gathering and written documentation required.
Can I book a parent consultation without booking an assessment?
Yes. A parent advice consultation is recommended as a first step and can be useful when you want professional guidance about your child or teenager, but are not yet sure whether formal assessment, therapy, school support or post-diagnostic planning is needed or desirable.
Are fees reimbursed by health insurance?
Some psychology services may qualify for reimbursement depending on your personal insurance policy, provider and referral route. Please check directly with your health insurance provider and Revenue.ie.
Ready to take the next step?
If you are unsure where to begin, please book an Initial Consultation & Planning Appointment. This helps identify the most appropriate next step for you or your young person, and avoids unnecessary assessment costs or unclear therapeutic goals where possible.
