1. How fees and payments work
Consultations
Consultations are standalone professional appointments and are paid at the time of booking before the appointment is confirmed. Fees for missed or late cancelled appointments are non-refundable, please see T&C document
Formal assessments
The full service fee and payment schedule will be confirmed following initial consultation in a session summary report document. This fee is payable before assessment begins.
Two-part payment arrangements may be available for some formal assessments. The first payment is required before assessment appointments are reserved. The final balance must be paid before feedback, results, confirmation letters or reports are released.
Therapy bundles
Therapy bundles are paid in advance, or through an agreed two-part payment arrangement where agreed in advance. The Therapy session bundle fee applies only when a six-session or twelve-session block is booked. Bundles include pre and post therapy outcome screening, tailored evidence-based intervention planning, individual sessions, all materials and parent review/end of treatment maintenance plan.
Health insurance and tax relief
Some psychological services may qualify for reimbursement through private health insurance or for tax relief as an eligible health expense, depending on the service and the client's circumstances.
Cocoon provides itemised receipts where appropriate. Clients should confirm eligibility directly with their insurer, Revenue or tax adviser. Information on this page is general guidance and is not tax or financial advice.
